the house next to me was just remodeled and it had been empty for 6 months
all of the bugs from that house flooded over to mine

i need to call a pest control co but i dont know how it will affect my tanks

if you guys have any suggestions i would really appreciate it

thanks will

It will not affect them, as long as they do not put it in your tank. Unless you are going to have them fog the place, but it would have to be way over run with bugs for them to do that. Just stress to them, do not spray very close to the tank.

I work for arrow and I know first hand all of the pesticides I use are extremely toxic to bird and fish. The room that the aquarium is in should not be treated and usually if I am treating a house with a reef I tell them to cut off the skimmer until I am done. As far as toxicity to humans, dogs, cats. The ld50 is usually less than caffine. Let me know if you have any more questions. Find a company that practices ipm like arrow.

but what if that area needs to be treated
do i cover the tank ,, and for how long can it stay covered

basically i have roaches and ants
i keep my house very clean and the stinkin neighbors ran all their bugs over to my place

If it is an american roach, which most everyone has this time of year it can be treated from the outside. And as far as the ants go, most people have problems with either argentine or odorous house ants this time of year. pick one up and squish it between your fingers if it smells sweet kinda like coconut it will be odorous house ant and can be easily treated with a gel bait. Most people make mistakes and think that they can do it better using aerosals thay contain petroleum distilates>>>>>this is bad. If you want us to take care of it pm me. I can guarantee it will be safer and better results.

wow good info in here. Any recommendations for how to treat for roaches outside the house?

When I lived with my parents, my dad would fog about twice a year. I shut off all external filters and let the powerheads keep running, and covered the whole thing with saranwrap. Always worked, but times change and now I wouldn't dream of fogging,

Ive had salt tanks with out canopys for 9 years and had my house treated once a month for at least 9 years and never had one problem. I just had it sprayed 3 weeks ago.I dont cut off skimmers . As long as you do spray it in the tank your going to be fine.

I always treat 3 ft from the ground up around my house and the surrounding maybe 5 ft from the base of my house I spray the ground. There is a place in off 78 near stone mountain Called u-spray . They sell the same chemicals as most companies use. I use to pay untill I watched the guy do it for 6 months . I use a stihl back pack sprayer makes spraying a joke.

Lol in lmao!! As long as u do spray it in your tank you'll b fine lol

Yep it's true u can get the same chemicals without a license. Also pet feed places like 4 farms carry that stuff. U just can't get it the same strength as a licensed person. Usually it's like 10-20 percent strength u can get so just repeat doses or add more

I got treated for German Roaches. I only asked that they not spread poison near the tanks and all is well.
