First, I want to thank everyone that is part of the ARC for all the help over the past 10 months. My tank is doing great! I have learned so much from reading and asking here. Anyway, I have an Apex system with a probe and my ph is 8.43 right now. Is this ok? I know that 8.2-8.4 is optimum but should I just take this as a healthy tank or is this too high? I am not dosing or using kalk so I was a little surprised that I could have such a high ph.

That's what I was wondering! I need to read up on probe calibration. i believe that I can purchase some calibration fluid to check. Seems like SEA had it last time I did it about 7 months ago. I bet that is what it is.

My pH hits a tad over 8.4 sometimes. When it does I pull the skimmers airline out of my homemade CO2 scrubber and let it drop a bit, usually a day or so. Not sure if 8.4 is good but it doesn't seem to cause any issues in my tank.

And my probe is calibrated, so its a true number.

What is the low ph? It's more about stability than chasing a number
