PH Climbing

I noticed me PH climbing all day. Now it's at 8.49

What can cause such an increase, what is a dangerous level and what is an immediate remedy?

Forgot to mention that I'm using me Apex gauge.

Ph will become lower while lights are off. When the lights come on the ph will begin to slowly raise and peak and then the process will start all over again.

At times I will see mine spike that high but will not remain there for long. All I can say is don't chase the number as I have not seen any ill effect from my ph at those levels.

Understood. But mine has never climbed above 8.33

Just trying to figure out when I should get worried and what I should do. Also trying to gauge different options I have at this point.

Are you trying different methods to test?
may be comparing results...

Have you or another family member opened the house windows on the days you have seen the spikes?

Not that I can recall. I noticed that the spike did not repeat itself the following day so I'm quite relieved. I think I may want to also think about recalibrating my probe.

Thanks for all the advice though. Got me thinking from different angles.
