My Ph has recently dropped to about 7.6. I have used Marine Buffer from Seachem but it does not push the Ph up and hold it. Alkalinity is about 250ppm. Tank is a 30 gallon with a 10 gallon sump. It has been set up for about a year and a half. Remora hang on protein skimmer.

What are you testing it with? That seems extremely unlikely.

Mardel 5 in 1 test strips. I know they are not real reliable. The Ph drop showed when I had water tested after a new fish died. Reading seems to be consistent with how it tests at the shop.

Yeah the air in your home can greatly affect tank ph. When there is lots of CO2 in the air in will get inject/disolved into the tank. Since CO2 is acidic it will lower the ph. Although I have only heard it is a problem in the winter when houses are more closed up.

I run a CO2 scrubber to help this...some run a skimmer line outside, that is assuming you have an excess CO2 problem, which I cannot determine.....

Anyways, first things first, I would recommend a good test kit set for dKH, Ph, Cal & Mag so we can make sure your parameters are balanced. Then you you can go from there....

I use the Salifert line of tests kits, but there are several quality test kits out there.

Just my 2 cents.
