hey guys!

i have a D70, a pretty good lense (wishing i had a macro right about now, though), and was wondering how you set up your camera for shooting corals. seems like a lot of people use fiji purple and super actinics which i'm going to assume is more blue than my actinic 03.

all of my pictures, whether i do manual or a basic mode...are always extremely blue.

what white balance settings are you guys using?? is that my problem? it's on auto -2.

I've recently been putting my white balance on "flash" and the result is pretty decent. Although this may vary on what type of lights/K you have.

2 10k, 2 03actinic.

gonna switch to one super actinic, one 03 actinic, one fiji purple and one 14k or 20k if they make those for t5.

I assume you know how to do a manual setting of the white balance?

Just take a pvc pipe. Stick it in the tank and set your white bal so that it appears white.

That should give you a pretty good representation of true to life color.

good point. i ALWAYS shoot in raw, despite the ridiculous file sizes. i know how to do all of that, i just wasn't sure if there was a better way besides a preset wb since mine can't save custom presets. i use my preset wb on a daily basis and didnt want to get rid of it :(

thanks guys!
