For those of you LED'ers out there, what sort of photoperiod are you running your LED's on? How long should I have no lights on my tank whatsoever and do the moonlights count as having basically no lights or should i cut the moonlights off completely as well? I have the reefbreeders photon32 fixture which is a controllable fixture and gives me the ability to have a sunrise/sunset feature.

Mine are set for 11am-9pm with a 30 minute sunrise/sunset period. Moonlights are on a 28 day cycle which ranges in intensity from 0-10%.

i run mine on a 16 hour light cycle from 5 to 9 and it ramps up until 12 and then starts ramping down till 9 but stays at a high intensity between 10 and 4 i dont really use my moon light feature

I was going to ask this question myself. My only concern is that I am getting the Reefbreeders Value fixture. So I have no real way to have a sunrise/sunset period.

Oops didn't finish that last sentence, my controller is built in and allows me to do sunrise/sunset, and include a peak period mid day and then back down to moonlights eventually.

I have the Pacific Sun 120w Black Pythons. They have a built in controller.

I have a pair of Maxspect R420R s. also on a 90gal tank. they have 2 built in preset time periods that both vamp up then back down, one with moonlight the other without, Iam looking to fine tune even that ! They are costly but worth it long term!
