now for the questions. can you id some stuff for me? i need an id on pics 5,7,8 and 9
and this thing. i was looking around and saw it on the underside of one of my rocks.

and is this a nassarius snail or a whelk? the only reason i ask is i have several nassarius snails and this guy looks diffrent and also after i added this guy my pod population dissappeared and my mandarin starved to death, he was alive and fat for two years before that so i dont think he was starving the whole time or he would have died much sooner. i heard whelks will eat all the pods so i figured id ask.

You have a lot of nice growth .
Are those blow pop z's in pic 6?
I won't knock your lights iv seen MM led's hung on 2 pieces of 2x4 sitting on a stack of books and magazines to raise them higher , it didn't look so slick but the growth that kid had was great.
I'd use flat black spray paint on the white PVC then black zip ties and run that eye sore pwr wire down the rail if it was me.
That will clean up the PVC look a bit making it match and hiding the wires.

Edit: Number 4 looks like a color morph of gb packers , I have some about the same.
Maybe flip through the albums at zoaid.com and look for something like them
I was off a pic 7 is blow pop I think 5 may be emeralds on fire , is the mouth more yellow or green if yellow it is Mohawk ,or flaming sun

thanks for not scorching me lol. i actually had the whole thing black at one point but i wanted to raise it higher so i cut new legs for it and just was too lazy to paint them. but its not there to impress anyone im almost the only one who ever sees it and it dosent bother me so i dont mind leaving it that way. and no i looked up blow pops and 7 dosent quite look like it most were similar but not the same. and 5 is more green in the middle but it dosent look like any of the others that you mentioned. and ive seen emeralds on fire the look similar to fruit loops so its not those either. who knows..... i should just give them all my own name and sell them for tons of money so i could afford to have raj build me a nice light rack lol

You have some really nice, colorful corals. I would not fret over the lights. My nice LEDs are propped over my tank on some random 1"x2" boards.

I am more concerned about the hippo tang in that tank.

i know how that goes lol when i first got my radion i had it proped over the tank with a couple peices of aluminum lol and yea that hippo is getting to be decent size now i got him when he was about 3/4 of an inch and now hes about 2.5-3 inches. but he has a 150 waiting on him if i can ever catch him. a guy i know said he would be willing to buy him when i get ready to get rid of him.

Yeah, sorry that was a little harsh. My comments were limited only to the bed because I couldn't name any of the corals. As for a ghetto-fabulous set up- well you've seen mine so I really can't comment.

Out of curiosity do you want a canopy for your tank, as you know I've got a ton of material around here let know and we'll put some together.

Look at Gorilla nipple zoe's for the ones I called blow pop .

As for the names , I think you should call it something else all these names are made up by someone anyway , granted there's some really cool color morphs and naturally occurring zoas out there I think the name game and calling something LE is silly it drives the market value up .
The coral farmers and distributors don't know the hobby names we use .
But its not like one person can change that , so if i want cool z's and p's I'm stuck calling them silly names and paying out.

If I were you, I'd build a simple shelf with a peice of cabinet grade ply painted black and 2 large brackets. Then you could put some of the stuff on your desk/table/stand on top too!

On the snail, my Nassarius have pointy ends and somewhat smooth shells. I have my lights t5/mh suspended from a big shelf (with tequila bottles). My husband used black chain of some sort and chromed hooks.

Everything looks happy and great. Nice colony size on all of your frags/corals. The top view panorama pic is my favorite. I don't know the zoa's names but I sure would like a frag of the purple zoa's with yellow skirt, . Very nice!

thanks josh. and yea most lps love my tank hell almost everything does pretty well and grows pretty fast i just wish i could get acros to do the same lol i have a green slimer that has doubled in size since i got it earlier this year and a small millie frag i got from a friend a few months ago that has encrusted and grown about a quarter inch but almost no polyp extension on either of those guys and a rommells rainbow that has neither grown or shown pe but it is starting to color up. but i figure if i do something to make these guys happy im going to piss something else off so i havent changed anything.

thanks rick ill see what i can do to get a frag of it off that rock no guarantees though
