Here are some pics of my tank to share. It started with a 55 gal freshwater conversion in 2002 when I was in a 1 bedroom condo in Buckhead. Moved to a house in Atlanta near Vinings in 2005 and upgraded to the existing 120 gal. Moved twice in 2007, once into a temp Marietta TH because our house sold before our new house was built , and now in it's permanent location Suwanee for at least 10 years?

I thoroughly enjoy this hobby  especially now since I don't have to move it again, haha!

Thru all of the equipment upgrades, ick outbreaks, red slime outbreaks, fish loss, coral loss, etc. over the years, it is finally on track! Yay!

We can certainly trade if you want a piece. It grows like crazy. Oh wait, I thought you meant orange plating monti. Nevermind, maybe if the plate has babies one day, I'll let you know.

Thanks everyone! I have a Nova Extreme Pro 6 x 54 T-5s. It is not overdriven. I wish I had an 8 bulb fixture, but I guess this is good enough. My bulb sequence from front to back:

ATI Blue Plus
10K Current (came with fixture)
ATI Blue Plus
10K
ATI Blue Plus
UVL Aquablue Special

I did some searching on Reef Central as per bulbs and PAR. And found the Blue Plus has 1 of the highest PAR ratings around mid 300? I can't remember. And the Aquablue Special is in the upper 300's. I could have used an actinic bulb for more blue but decided that I wanted higher PAR ratings.

I like the whitish blue look. It does have a hint of purple though. I need to get my PAR checked on again just for kicks.

The ATI stuff is nice. I got

front to back:
ATI Blue plus
Geisman Pure Actinic
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Aquablue
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Aquablue
UVL 75/25
ATI Blue Plus

I checked on the Q&A thread on RC for T-5 and saw the same thing. Good looking tank, love the light colors!

Ever find any info regarding the Aqua Science bulbs? I was wanting to throw one or 2 into the mix to test them out.

Nice! Got any pics? You must have a large tank with 8 bulbs. Never heard of Aqua Science. After I picked out my bulbs, I never looked into them again. Here's some PAR ratings from RC if anyone else is curious:

ATI

Sun Pro 357
Aquablue 336
Blue Plus 311
Actinic 137

D&D/Giesemann

Midday 325
Aquablue 324
Actinic Plus 264
Pure Actinic 157

UVL

Aqua sun 345
Actinic White 293
Super Actinic 210

AquaZ

Sun Pro 285
Ocean Pro 323
Blue Pro 266

Helios

Daylight 309
Super Blue 225

Current Sun Paq

Daylight 10K 272
Blue 252

GE Daylight 340

I wonder how the ATI Sun Pro looks. It's got the highest PAR.

The Aquascience is from Aqua Perfekt. They have them over at Aquarium Specialty. I got the 8 bulb with sps and clams in mind. I have yet to get either minus a few frags. I am still playing with bulb combos for that right "look." Great info on the par ratings!

Thanks!

Chauwall,How deep is your tank? The lights look great!! I'm building a 240 gal thats 31" deep and was worried about lighting,do you have any MH on it at all?

Couple more pics.:)

I only have T-5's. No MH because of the heat issues; I didn't want to buy a chiller and thought T-5's were a better value long term. The T-5's added maybe a degree to the tank temp. My tank is 24" tall. 31" is pretty tall unless you overdrive your ballast. Otherwise, MH may be a better option or a combo would work. T-5's also have better spread so if you get a 48" fixture, it would still work with your setup. I'm sure someone else with a 240 can chime in.

My fixture is 12" wide. Something to consider:If you get a 6 bulb, it will cover your whole tank top, which really limits access. You'll have to take off the fixture/hood to do anything in the tank. The 4 bulb may be better for access. I actually had PCs on my old 55 gal and had great coral growth. But T-5's do ROCK!
