Picture Contest for Facebook Header Image

Looking at the Facebook page for the group, I'm thinking we could have a better picture with the ARC logo over it. Not to disrespect the current one, but it doesn't have any fish or pretty corals in it!

Maybe we could have some fun and change it up. I propose a photo contest! Let me know your thoughts and we can get the official rules nailed down.

I'm proposing 2 weeks from now a winner should be declared. Winner gets their photo as the head image for the month on the Facebook page.

Anyone in on this idea? I know there is an 8mb limit here. I would like to keep the submissions here if possible. Winner could hopefully send a higher resolution photo for Facebook? I guess all that could be hashed out if people are in on the idea.

Hope to see some pretty pictures!

Great idea!  We can offer a $50 gc for the winner and the bod can serve as the judges.  Like the old days with vbulletin everyone was forced to use a hosting company for posting pictures.  So anyone that would like to submit a picture larger than the 8mb limit can use any of a number of free hosting companies.   Lets get it rolling!

Thanks Brett! That's a nice bonus prize, over the bragging rights of having the best picture I know we have some good photographers out there, so hope theres plenty of competition. I'll get to work on submission.

Good pictures guys! I love pics of anemones hosting clowns. Doesn't get more reef than that... Goby & pistol shrimp combo is pretty classic too!

Thanks for proposing this and keeping up with it Fishy!

If you haven't noticed the BoD kinda has it's hands full at the moment. We have a big project we're working on and with the shake up in the leadership it's going to be tough for us to stay on top of this. I really do love the idea and hope we can do more of these type things frequently in the coming months.

I really like the shot of Camellia's Wrasse. But for me the couple that are FTS or close to it look better for the header.
