Those that have had tanks built by Planet Aquariums please post some pics and your feelings about the aquariums.... I'm interested in these and what others who have them think

Thanks

Tyson

Tyson... let me know if you are interested in going this route. Transportation from Dallas is the issue for me, and $400 for shipping is a show stopper.

Of course you can always strap one onto the planes underbelly!

I'm from TX so ALL my family is from there. I could easily have my dad swing through the Dallas area and pick it up for me. Did you get a 180 from them Larry?

Nope... about to go with acrylic because I can't find anyone local willing to do a 180 with bean animal return for less than $2000.

acrylic is nice, but keep those magnet glass cleaners off the tank when the grandkids are there...... If you sneeze on acrylic, it scratches!

BUT, if you can keep from scratching it, you will love it!

They are the best looking tanks I have ever seen. Great guys.

You should be able to get a 180, shipped for less than that.

Some of my PA tank pics can be seen here

Here's some more of their current work: my 96" x 40" x 28" tank in progress.

Dave.... Wow! That's going to be really nice! Remember, I'm here when you need help. Summer is our slow time at work

Great looking tank Dave! I want to know who's tank that is behind yours.

Thanks Bruce!

Thanks...I wouldn't want to be cleaning that one. Looks to be at least 30" tall. Mine is wider, however, with an external overflow. The back glass will be covered with a black vinyl film.

I'm still a good ways off from getting another tank (doing some research and planning still). But, I was thinking about going with a peninsula style tank with external overflow on the back side (short side). Thinking about a 72x36x27 or 60x36x27. I am going for the same style reef tank that Pure Reef has as their display tanks in their showroom. I really like the depth and peninsula style.

Dave, if yours is 28" tall, I'm guessing that other tank has to be nearly 40", no? Either way, I can't wait to see your build thread! This is all making me want a bigger tank. Ugh...
