Which is better a plate coral with long tentacles or an anemone? Reason I ask is someone told me that the nem is a bad thing to add to the tank if it ever dies. He said it would wipe out the tank but the plate coral is sorta the same thing but wont take out the tank. Just wanted to know what others think

Some people should do more research before giving advice to others.
Anemones have the ability and tendency to find the spot they like - a plate will stay put.
The rest is personal preference...

An anemone won't take out the tank by dying any more than anything else with its mass... and then only if you let it stay in there and rot. Through years I've known plenty of people who have had anemones die, including one with me, and have never seen any losses from it.

And yeah, they're about the same other than they are totally not. :D

If it's for the purpose of providing a host for clowns, Heliofungia aren't meant to provide that. If they get damaged, they die pretty quickly.

I know. I like the many color options. so your saying if you dont have a nem dont get it because a clown could kill it?

No, a clown could irritate a PLATE to death. Clowns and anemones are peanut butter and jelly. :)

I couldnt resist...
