Good mooring everyone, first day of school so im up working early today!!! Please take a look at my plumbing and tell me what you think so far, I'm still waiting on a piece to do my return line. That is my drain and emergency drain, I have to stop and pick up some pvc clamps to support everything. I couldn't find schedule 80 fittings for the top hence the white, but no one will see it anyway. But please tell me what you think so far. Thanks

That would help, duh!!!

Your drain lines don't need to extend more than about 2" below the surface of the water height of the chamber. So that's 2" down from the level of the sock holders.
It's hard to tell from the pics but you want a bit of a downward angle to the horizontal runs. This helps them to purge air and not hold the air in pockets and makes it quieter.

No comment on the bare foot reflection... ;)

Ok, got you I will shorten them a bit because I have it about 3 inches from the bottom right now.

That should be an easy fix, it's only dry fitted right now. I also have a 45° elbow I can replace the first 90° with to add angle. Thanks, I'll make those adjustments and work on the return this evening.

Only thing I would do different is add some union fittings for easy removal in the future.

Rigt above the white adapter, it connects using the standard red sea plumbing. I just unscrew a nut and the entire plumbing comes off. Do you still recommend a union?

Next question, with the flow meter the return is going to be a bit low. It will still be above the water line, so do you guys see any issue with this setup?

Is a bit higher, not much. I think this will be better anyway, because it will catch all the water from the manifold also.

Oh. I didn't know this were unions, not familiar with red sea.

Thank you guys for all your feedback, I finally completed it today. I did a leak test last night, just had to retape my threaded male metric to standard adapter. I filled it up with tap water today and have it running, I will empty tonight or tomorrow. Next it aquascape.

And a special thanks to David, for helping lift and level the tank. Im glad we took the extra time to make sure it was perfectly level.
