plumbing making noises

Anyone have any idea why my plumbing woul be making noises. I have narrowed it down to the area between my sump and my return pump. It sounds like little marbles in there being tossed around in the current. Not loud but definitely noticable.

I can get it to silence if I throttle back the pump a little bit with a ball valve above the pump.

I'd like to be able to run the pump at full open but don't want to hear that noise if I can keep from it

Check to see if you have any gravel in your pumps

this is a fairly new system. I'm almost positive there isn't any gravel in there. Good suggestion though, thx!

In stall a vent in the top of the line,it could be trapped air?

wouldn't that manifest itself in microbubbles entering the system?


I'd bet that something is in your pump head..

The intake on your return pump isnt restricted right?

Correct. Its 1 1/4 feeding a 3/4 inlet to the pump and then 1" going out
