I like that the thermostat is a separate piece.[/QUOTE]

I don't know anything about the controller, but I've got a titanium 250W Blueline heater (looks just like that) that is only the heating element (my Apex Controller runs it) and I'm telling you that thing gets HOT, FAST!!!
consequently, it doesn't run as long as some that take longer to charge their heating element..
(the 300W heater that I use to mix salt water doesnt get as hot as the 250W titanium heater that's in my sump)

Since you added a FRAG tank and you'll probably have some decent lighting over it (MH?) you're probably fine without it.. I wouldn't add another right away.. keep an eye on your temperature over the next couple days..

some people shorten their lighting periods in an effort to keep their water temperature down (I do this in the summer)... you can do just the opposite and run your lights a little longer in order to compensate for the increased surface (cooling) area...

post a PICTURE of your setup..

+1 My 100g Rubbermaid seems to pull a ton of heat out of my 240g system. Im running 3x 400w heaters and a 200w to be safe.

Dang thought I included that. LOL

We are getting lots of humidity and some rust in the basement so I don't think it will be smart to add another 50 gallons especially since its so got such a large opening. I'm thinking a 30 long might work instead but that need $$$ which i don't have.

? you're getting humidity from what ? (the evaporative cooling of your display?)

Any standard HVAC setup should be taking care of that already... (cool air holds less moisture, so naturally, your air should be dryer in the winter)

The humidity is more of a worry for the summer. The rust is the major concern right now. Anyway I'm not thinking the 33 long or standard 30 might do what I need.
