Plumbing sump help, problem, question.

My sump has a double filter sock chamber but there isn't room between the sock holes to use a T.
I bought flex hose to try to T up higher and feed into the bulkheads bulging out then back in but there isn't enough "play" in the hose with the short distance.

What do you think about extending out from one of the bulkheads? It would but a "U" for the water to have to go thru prior to getting to one bulkhead. Do you think this would still allow even flow without too much restriction?

Any other suggestions?

Picture? Do you really need to use both socks? I've always only used one.

Been busy this weekend. Here is my response to the PM and this post. I think it is important to incorporate a basically equal tee if you can on this setup. Can you try this to lessen the distance between the tees and the elbows? This will lessen the distance and maybe let you do the setup. If you cut about 1/2 the female sleeves as shown on the diagram you will lessen the distance you need between the holes over the filter socks. You still will have plenty of bonding surface for the joints, as these are not pressurized or anything.

A hacksaw could do this by hand, or a chop saw if you have access to one or someone that could do it for you.

I live in Sandy Springs, and would do this for you if you are ever in the area.

Very true, but her sump does not have a sock compartment, so if one sock gets clogged the rest goes into the sump, bypassing the socks. An equal flow between the two socks would increase maintenance intervals vs monitoring and maintaining a single sock.

The only thing I can think of that might be better would be if you could eliminate the two 90 degree elbows you have in between the tee and the elbow from the overflow pipe (blue glue), and make it a straight shot from the blue elbow to the elbow above the filter socks tee. You would need to loosen the bulkhead, then rotate the blue elbow so it faces the elbow above the filter socks, then retighten the bulkhead. You would also need to point the filter socks elbow at the blue elbow.

You might not want to do this if it will interfere with any equipment you will have in the sump, like a skimmer or a media reactor, etc.

It ended up with the two 90's because I was reusing what I had and didn't have a clean 90. I haven't glued...
