I figured so - I was using the shotgun method - throw it out to as many as possible and hope I hit something

Chris, those are very nice setups. What kind of maintenance does something like that require, compared to say a reef tank?

I take the same natural approach and non-chemical fix approach as possible. Each of my ponds seem to get easier to maintain. They become very large eco systems with many living creatures. Frogs, turtles, fish ect. I do not clean the most of the leaves and typically do not run skimmers anymore. I just bury a modified poly drum with net for catching some of the leaves. UV in ponds are normally used for clarity and nuisance algae. I would like to get away from using them except for formal type features. The rest is about balance.IMO

I agree, although I love my surface skimmer. A properly set up pond requires very little maintenance. They usually require the most maintenance within the first season as everything gets up and running.

Yes home depot carries liner however I think they carry poly liner which tends to get brittle pretty quick with age. You want to get 40mil epdm which as stated you can get from Chris or me.

Great looking pond. I am in the design stage on my pond and looking at your have put all kinds of ideas in my head. I'm looking to get started on mine hopefully in the fall or early spring.

I would love to see more pictures of your set up. Thanks.

This is what I don't need...another hobby.

Then again, I do have a spot in the back corner of my back yard that would be perfect for a pond...

Ditto on both counts. I've got a nice steep hill in the back yard that would look great with a waterfall coming down to a small pond. Just gotta take care of the weeds first.
