I wonder:

Do LFS in Hawaii have a different livestock selection than we do in the contiguous 48?

If yes.... What type of different selection would we find?

Would livestock survive a flight in personal checked baggage?

Would coral have a better chance of surving than fish?

Any legal constraints?

Just pondering...

Not sure why it would be illegal to transport stuff from state to state but who knows. I feel like im doing something illegal everytime i bring a baggie of corals to a local spot for trading :)

Picked up a new work project that may require ocassional travel to the islands... So just thinking of possibilities for different additions to my livestock not available locally.

I know a TN resident was questioned by police for selling livestock in GA - non commercially.
Not sure what happened to him - but I'd check that water tight

Don't plan to sell... Just, perhaps, find something different. My real concern is transportation.

I wonder if there are many LFS even in Hawaii. Most residents can go to the beach and catch the fish that we keep in our tanks.

id be more worried about what will happen to you trying to leave there with it rather than what would happen trying to bring it to GA.....i wouldnt risk trying to put it in checked baggage......(have you seen how they throw bags around...it would be dead before you within the first 2 hours of the 10 hr flight......they will have the same things we have here....the respect the Hawaiian government holds for their waters goes the same for any stores there...with a potential ban in place dont think that any store there is going to go out and ravage Honaunau Bay for some extra cash.....they import fish from Jakarta, Australia, etc.....just like LFS here do....what is there.....stays there.....besides its bad pomaika'i to take from the islands.....
