I recently purchased a Kole tang.(about 2 days ago*).It ate well when it was in the lsf... and until yesterday here at home. When I got home from work I went in to check on the tank and noticed he isn't eating and is hiding in the rocks... and has a lot of white spots.I suspect it has some form of parasite.. but maybe it's just stress?.. I have a reef tank with corals and anemones so I am wondering a safe way to fix this problem if it is indeed some form of parasite.

Thanks for any help.

How old is the tank? What are you're parameters? and what size your tank?

At this point.. do NOT try removing him. The additional stress will just make things worse.

Agree with the Metro and Focus on the food. Try and keep your hands out of the tank as much as possible to keep stress down and if he eats you should be fine. Just feed a good bit.

Are you sure he isnt eating? Reduce your photoperiod so that he feels safe coming out if he wants, and provide plenty of food and nori.

He died the night I made this post.Sorry. :(

Thank you for all your help.

The tank is a year old... we had a crash about 2 months ago... let the tank go... changed the water.. let it sit a few weeks.. then added test fish.. then got the tang. bam. dead again...

params are perfect.. temp perfect...etc.

I'm sorry to hear that. I know how it goes, for sure.

I sent you a long PM with ways to combat ich, but you'll definitely want to let your tank sit for a month or two now. If your tank has ich then pretty much anything you put in there will most likely get it. I'd check for a few of the things I listed in my PM...
