I've had this monster sized toadstool leather in my tank for several months now and it has been doing great, never showing any signs of distress until it didn't open yesterday or today. And now I've noticed that the bottom, where it is attached to the rock, seems to be deteriorating. It is closed up but not melting away, all other corals are doing great. It I'm worried that if it does die, it could do some serious damage. Any advice?

Something could be in between the rock and the base of the coral causing it to be pissed off.
