As in, if you had a puffer and wanted to have corals and somehow screened/divided a portion of the tank to keep the puffer from eating the corals, sure. (of course this assumes your tank is capable of supporting corals in the first place).

Also depends on what you want in the same tank. Corals do well with light, flow and food. Fish and others have different requirements. Over time your corals will grow and spread.
How big is the tank? (ie: you don't want to cut the tank where you give little space for fish...ect)
