do you guys keep a powerhead for movement in the RO or RODI water you have in your Auto top off containers or is the occasional movement from the pump ok?

If I had a larger ATO container I certainly would, but mine is only about 4 1/2 gallons and gets used up in about 2 to 3 days so its ok. However I store my rodi water in a 32 gallon brute and I keep a mj 1200 in there because the water starts to smell if it doesn't get stirred up. Another tip to keep the ATO fresh is to have it dark so no light can enter. I have mine in a small rubbermaid trash can with a spring hinged lid. The lid on it really helps as well.

I have mines in a 10g tank and with the red sea max being closed top and me running a chiller. It takes almost 10 weeks for me to use up the 10 gallon of ro water I have in there. That being said, I started getting a film of gunk in the tank and it looked nasty so I ended up putting a little k nano in there for water movement. It's been about 2 weeks since I've don't that and things are still looking good.

I also agree with Blake. If your using up your Rodi water fast enough the. You'll be ok. I never had this problem with my other tanks since I use up about 2 gallons a day. Now it takes me 2 weeks to for 2 gallons.

Mine is only 6 gallons and lasts about 4 days so I don't. But like Ron....I have an 802 circulating my 55 gallon RODI storage tank as well as one in my 40 gallon brute saltwater mixing container.

I would say its a matter of time for how long you allow to sit ,and if it's enclosed or not. I would say it's hard to judge this way to the fact everyone uses different amounts faster or slower than others.

ok thanks guys...i think mine is a 10 gallon container on my 30gallon cube so it doesnt get used quickly..think ill toss in a koralia nano or something

My "top off container" is a 55 gallon barrel. I have it covered and do not have circulation in it...

I have a 42g Brute trash can that I use to store my bulk ro/di water and have a k4 in it that does a good job. i have a mag 7 in my 32g saltwater brute trash can. in my two salinity buckets i have next to my tank for top off i do not have any powerhead, i also use about a gallon a day. and now that i have and ato i only check once a week.. plus i have connected the two buckets so i only have to fill one bucket up and it fills up both, same for when using water.. only take from one bucket.
