Powerhead placement

I have a 12gal cube with a 240 powerhead -
Any suggestions on placement?
I have moved it around a good bit over the past month and my corals are getting pissed at me -
Should it be directed more towards the surface or glass -
I need a moderate to slow flow and no matter where I direct it there always seems to be an area on the sand bed that gets blasted!

That should be a perfect pump for this little tank. Pics would really help, but if it were me I'd have the pump on the back wall pointing dead center at the front glass.

You will need to give it some time, like a couple of days. And depending on how fine your sandbed is, you can expect some blowing around, especially in a tank that small. It will eventually stop.
