Has anyone heard of or tried Prevent-Ich? Apparently it is supposed to be a preventative herbal remedy that is safe to put in the tank with corals and inverts.

<span style="font-family: Tahoma;"><span style="font-family: Tahoma;">There&#8217;s quite a lengthy description here: http://www.novalek.com/kordon/prevent_ich/index.htm"><span style="color: #606420;">http://www.novalek.com/kordon/prevent_ich/index.htm</span></a></span>
<span style="font-family: Tahoma;">I&#8217;ll be interested in reviews as well.</span>

I mean I jsut read thu the whole deal and it seems so good I think i'm going to dose it to myself to make sure I dont have anything I shouldnt, lol. State that its safe for use with ALL corals and inverts including anemones...interesting. Honestly there is nothing in that write up that would scare me from using that product, just make sure you dose at the same time daily, thats the only "high maintaince" thing I can see about this. I'ld say give it a shot if you have ich and let us know how it works out!

Along these lines ~ ~ does anyone make up their own food and freeze it into cubes or something? Do you include garlic as an ingredient to help prevent ich?

I'd love to see some *favorite recipes* from club members.

Didn't Steven Pro run a bunch of these to see what they actually were reef safe and find out that most weren't. Don't remember this one on the list, but I would be skeptical of any formula that didn't publish ingredients.

Great, another "cure-all" solution to Ich... People have tried Garlic, Ginger, Pepper, Tea, A multi-vitamine, Magnets (ya I am not kidding there),and everything else under the sun... there is NO PROOF that any of them work, yes that includes garlic!!! What is next acupuncture?!?

There are a few FAQ on the subject here: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/homeopathfaqs.htm">http://www.wetwebmedia.com/homeopathfaqs.htm</a> and here: [IMG]http://www.wetwebmedia.com/garlicfaqs.htm">http://www.wetwebmedia.com/garlicfaqs.htm</a>

YA Steven Pro did run alot of "medications" and "cures" through tests, that is what was included in my Ich article. None of them were found to work.

I hear that braising them for 5 minutes on a side with capers and lemon butter will cure Ich.

Ya and is mighty tasty too... A good size trigger makes a good meal that way!

The one I am refering to basically exposed many "reef safe" products as anything but. His 5 part article was interesting as well, but he has a slightly lessor known one that tested these products on xenia.

I don't have ich in my tank at the moment, thankfully. My hubbie found it on the internet, but couldn't find where anybody had tested the product on their tanks. We were just wondering if anyone on the ARC had ever tried it and how it worked. Always looking for new ich prevention products that will work with a reef (just in case).
