guess i've been lucky for 10 yrs, but your story and misfortune made me go buy these, so you may have saved alot of folks alot of problems, sorry you were the example, but thanks for sharing.

I got my first tank bite this week from a bristle worm (I think) on my forearm. small reaction but I didn't even realize my forearm was close to the algae it was in till after i felt it. Full length gloves are a good idea but if you're like me on the avg stay at home day your arms are in and out of the tank 20 times!

+1 after an allergic reaction to my anemone and a night in the ER. My arm will not go in the tank with out it on!

After cutting up several hundred frags last weekend at Seth's, I believe I may have contracted a respiratory infection from the corals. I initially thought I had come down with pneumonia.

Long story short:
I ended up at the doctors office thursday getting-

-a cortizone injection,
-on a nebulizer in the office
-prescription inhaler
-presciption steroids
-prescription antibiotics

Doctor- "I don't know what you've got, but whatever it is it's nasty".

Lessons learned-
-wear gloves (which I did)
-wear goggles (which I did not)
-wear a mask (which I did not)

Don't take chances, wear protection.
