Problems with a 93 gallon rimless

Ok, here's the problem. My friend just bought a Marineland 93 gallon rimless tank. After setting it up, he noticed alot of tiny bubbles in the seams of the tank. The bubbles start from the top of one seam, and go down about 4 inches. Is this tank a done deal? Sounds too risky to take a chance of leaving it be. What should he do?

Now, most likely, the warranty is voided. Since he used a custom stand and even drilled an extra hole on the bottom.

Upon talking to a few people, they told him this tank is done. Not worth the risk. And resealing it wouldn't be worth it.

Do you think it can be eurobraced though? still too risky? As a side note, the tank's glass is only 1/4". I just think that's too thin for a 93 gallon rimless.

I have the same tank and spoke directly to Marineland. If your using a custom stand, it voids the lifetime warranty however, the warranty is still good for an entire year! These tanks just came out, so I know it's within the first year. You should be good to go!

Edit: One year warranty on a custom stand.

Cool. Hopefully they'll give him a warranty. But if not, do you think this tank is a goner? Can it be fixed? Eurobrace maybe?

Sorry I'm not knowledgeable enough to answer that. I'm sure someone will chime in.

If it was drilled after-market, I believe that voids the warranty.

Thanks. But can we forget about the warranty. I just wanna know if there's anything anyone recommends to fix the problem with the tank.

Edit: Here's some pics. These bubbles only come when the tank is filled with water. So it's not a pre- bubble air problem.

It looks to me as those are just bubbles caused by filling the tank. Water exerts more pressure than air so if the seams had holes it would leak not create air bubbles in the tank

I hope that's the case. But my friend doesn't want to take the chance.

Sorry, I'm keeping the stand. I could go down to $150 on the tank though. But again, you've been warned.

Can a mod delete this thread? My friend decided that he doesn't want to keep going with this thread....

Well, I got a few pms. I'll let you know if those fall thru.
