Sorry if this is not the correct forum to post this under.

Looking to get the house sprayed for insects, inside and out. Those of you that have this done or do this kind of work, what procautions need to be taken with having the interior sprayed in a house with a reef tank?

I have my house sprayed inside every 3 months. I tell them not to spray in the room containing the tank. I shut off my skimmer for a few hours after they spray as well, but I'm probably just being overly cautious.

yea just dont have them spray the room with the tank. we did bug bombs in my house a few months ago and i just closed the door to my room and left a towel under the door to make sure nothing got in and my tank was fine

I use Skyline Pest Solutions. They did a foundation treatment for $500, then $150 a year to maintain.

Ive had my fish room sprayed before. The product was described to me as being "relatively non toxic". Whatever that means. Still wouldn't go dumping it in my tank. But having the baseboards sprayed didn't worry me too much. I had them spray three out of the four walls in the room and left out the wall my tank is on. If you can cover your tank for a couple hours I don't think there's too much to worry about.

I use Ace Exterminating and they have been great for years. Runs $38 a month and they come once a month. I just made sure the guy knew not to spray near the tank or my ponds. The only time he is near the tank is for the 10 minutes he stands in front of it watching the fish and asking me questions about the corals. LOL

I have the interior of my house sprayed every 3 months (including the fish room) and have never had any problems.
