Anyone using one of these. Marine Design has one on their DT. Sounds nice. Different. Looking to see if anybody has used this and the Neptune for comparison. It is a bit more, and I am on my DROID at the moment so the site wasn't to friendly. So I didn't spend a lot of time navigating.

I've never heard anything bad about it other than that is it not a cheap system to buy. Buying a Profilux controller is like buying an Elos aquarium.

Yeah I heard they were more or less the Cadillac of Aquarium controllers. Or at least, a step up from Neptune controllers. Which are great, and was what I was looking at until I asked what controller was on the DT at Marine Design.
Still hoping someone has one so I can hear more first hand remarks. Actually, first one I thought might have one, would be you Dave. I had you pegged for "latest gadget, must have" guy. :) With your knowledge and all, I said...surely Dave has something like this on that big system he has. Then I thought of Grouper too, as I heard he has more valves than a submarine. :lol2:Are you guys both using Neptune stuff, or nothing?

I asked about them a couple of years back and MOJO had this to say about them.

This was 3 years ago... They have built great products since then

Yeah, most, if not all of those concerns from that link have been changed.

Cool. That is what Mojo said as well that they probably would fix them. Probably a solid company and product.

I use Digital Aquatics controllers, but Neptune is great as well. Definitely has better CS than Digital.

Welp, get your self registered on the DA Forums, as you can find answers to a lot of questions there. And feel free to PM me with any specific questions if you need some help. I use an RKE on both my systems and know most stuff about controlling pumps, lights, CO2 equipment, setting up float switches, etc. But I know nothing about the DA Net module, as I don;t own or use one.

One thing I have done with my RKE setups for my protein skimmer is set up a float switch in my skimmer cup, which connects to my SL1 or SL2 modules, so if it ever fills up from overfoaming, the float switch turns off the skimer pump. I also have a separate float switch set up in my skimmer section that will turn the skimmer pump off if the water level raises in the sump, which will also cause overfoaming in a skimmer.

Not to butt in but.... Ok so I am butting in. Dave, do you know if the back light on the RK2 can be replaced or if DA still works on them? In know they are discontinued but.....

No biggy Rich. IIRC Kris was saying that they do fix them and it was like $50 or so. You might check with him. If Dave dont fill you in first.

Thanks for the input Dave. I will likely take you up on that offer for help. Nice idea with the Skimmer. 1mbrews should be told about that. He was working out the shop vac the other night.:D

Not sure abbout that one Rich. Never owned an RK2 or have needed to get anything repaired. All my experience is with RKE and RKL units.
