pump for ato

I don't think it makes that much of a difference. I got a cheap 158gph water pump from harbor freight for $10.00 that suits my needs just fine...

Best of luck!!!

Agree. And at $15 new, hard to beat the price.

Mine runs dry a couple times a week. LOL.

Mine used to as well. I grabbed a 20g tank from the $1 per gallon sale at Petco a couple of months ago, and now I'm good to go... I only have to re-fill the tank about once a week, or whenever I think about it.

I used to have to refill my 5g bucket every day. I would last more than a day, but not quite two days...

+1 on aqualifter, it can run dry with no problem, I had mine used as part of an ATO, what I did with the pump only was have replaced the rubber diapragms and that was last year. Just be careful for the placement of this pump as they will allow water to siphon.

I guess I gotta give a plug for the aqualifter as well. A while ago before I had my Apex, my regular ATO pump ran dry for about 4 hours, and it was so hot by the time I figured it out that it melted itself together, and was still trying to pump. I hate to even think about what would've happen if I were out of town.

Aqualifters don't care if they get dry. The just keep pumping without getting hot...
