they work, however keep in mind that tight bends are NOT an option with this as the pipe will crush at the bend. You can minimize the crush effect with positive air pressure, but care needs to be taken.
You can also use a heat gun, or steam to heat the pipe sufficiently to bend without having this device.
Being a prolific DIYer, I have a wallpaper steam stripper that I use for bends in pvc when needed, and it works very well. You can also use a gas grill for heating the pipe, or even a torch as long as you dont scorch the material.

They work, we use them in the electrical field. If you need to make a tighter bend you can fill the pipe with sand. The sand will help it hold its shape. Plan to mess up a few pieces until you get the hang of it, its not hard. Have a bucket of tap water and a rag nearby. After you get the bend the way you want it put the wet rag on it and it will cool sooner. Good luck and have fun.

You can also buy pre-bent gray PVC in the electrical dept at Home Depot and Lowes. It is sold for use as conduit.

it will work, but if you want nic bends you would have to fill the pipe with sand and cap the ends before bending otherwise it will fold.

As stated above, fill it with sand to help keep it's shape. I also bend it over a 25lb shot bag that you can get from a sporting goods store in the reloading section. The shot bag evens the pressure out when bending it and gives you a better, smoother bend.
