Was wanting to start a build thread,Didn't know if i needed to be a ARC member or not.And if i can, What thread do i put it under.I think my 180 should arrive in altanta or close to that area today.

I don't believe you need to be a paid member to post a thread in "ARC Member Tanks" or "SIG - Large Tanks" Either would be appropriate.

However, if you're setting up a 180, your membership will pay for itself several times over and very quickly with our sponsor discounts. Something to consider!

I havent even been to a sponsor since I joined, however the generosity of the members here has paid for the membership 5x over. First buy was 80 for non members 50 for members which was a great price either way (thanks Eric), then a huge free rock covered in button polyps(Thanks Glenn), and today 6 different test kits for my tank showed up in the mail(Thanks Dave!!)

The members here are awesome. Dave wouldn't even let me cover shipping.

Don't get me wrong,I do want to be a member.Just didn't have a chance yet.I did buy a the 180 from one of your sponsors. And so glad i did. Will bring that up in my build thread.Give you a hint,She was ever so kind.

How do you utilize the membership discounts with the various sponsors?

Most people on the forum will welcome you with open arms no matter what. But I found that I really wanted to be a part of it once I saw how great all of the members are. But there is no hurry. Take your time.

We would like to meet you though and the mini frag swap this Saturday would be a great chance to see what is all about. It is open to anyone who wants to come. :-)

All of our sponsors have agreed to extend a 10% discount to anyone showing proof of current membership. If you sign up via pay-pal print the receipt and keep it with you. The club will send you a card but it may take a bit. Or, if you come to the meeting Saturday you could join and/or get your card on the spot.

I should add that there are a few items that are excluded from the discount.
