question about cleaning a tank

i have a 14g bio cube that a friend gave me and he kept a blue ringed octopus in it. i was wondering if i need to be careful while cleaning since i heard that they can inject the venom straight into the water column. also the tank has been dry for about 2 years now.

No. Just venomous bites. Don't worry

You will be fine, especially after two years of having nothing in the tank. Plus already mentioned you have to get bitten.
