What are a few things that you do with your tank that make your SPS thrive that you wouldn't do for a softie or mixed reef? I'm about to set up my tank and was wanting to have as "nutrient poor" environment to allow for great SPS growth.

I'd take any suggestions on what really makes SPS explode

Thanks

I do large water changes.....and dose to keep calc/alk/mag in check....run carbon and GFO...

20-25%....58g tank and 20g sump...about 53 actual total gallons....usually at leastonce a week...

I dont run pure GFO.....I use chemi-pure elite...it has carbon and ferric oxide in it....I also run an extra amount if carbon for the extra filtration....

I agree here
also, I run ULNS (carbon dosing)

I think after you get your water parems straight...........

major lighting and flow is what makes them explode in growth.
