question on drilling a tank

How hard is it to drill a tank without shattering it?

Depends on if you have tempered glass or not I believe...

1/4 in. thick 36 gallon aga aquarium

I think it should be alright without cracking too easy.

Do I need to worry abou the bit heating up?

Always keep water running over it. And put masking tape on the opposite side so that the glass doesnt fall out. Also what I would do is practice drilling on like a ten gallon or any spare tanks you have laying around.

does anyone know what panels of glass on a aqueon 36 gallon bow front is tempered? I know they are made by aga.

check the bottom, it will say (if the sticker is still there) if its tempered or not. Any time you buy from Petco, Petsmart ect is probley tempered which you cant drill
