I purchased this with the idea that it was chaeto algae. I looked at numerous pictures and I can't seem to find anyone else's chaeto that has these little pods or bubble's on them. It isn't bubble algae as they are attached to the strains. I took a pic of it and I would like confirmation about this actually being chaeto. I purchased it from one of our sponsors so I am hoping it is legit.

So whats your thoughts about the grape cauluprea going sexual? Think it is a problem in my tank? I guess I received a softball size a little over a month ago and its double if not more. I really was just hoping I had chaeto as it doesn't have as many issues. I think I might just order some chaeto and try again. Stinks that I wasted $10.

I have used grape cauluprea for years and have never had a problem with it. Just leave the fuge light on 24 hours a day and the algae will never go sexual.

Just make sure you properly dispose of it as you thin it out. That can cause several environmental nightmares when introduced in areas it isn't meant to grow in.
