I bought a fairly old MR4 with the Iwaki pump, which I have converted to a recirc.
The tops of the Beckett housings are acrylic, and slip-fit to the main tubes of the housings. Is this an early design? I ask because all the MRC skimmers I see now have flat acrylic tops on the housings w/ keyholes and thumbscrews. Not that how they attach is such a big deal, but mine are plumbed with 1/2" fittings at the top... and all (even down to smaller ones like MR2s) I see around have what look to be 1" plumbing at the inlet.

Has someone just changed the fittings, or were these plumbed with 1/2" pipe inlets?

Thanks!

You have the old style injectors. The newer style has a 1” inlet and are much much better than the old style…

Sorry Barry!

Those are really old. The new injectors are eons superior. They work 1,090 times better :)

So you mean I can skim a system of 1100*1090 gallons? Cool beans. I'm gonna shop for an indoor swimming pool now...
Wait, that's the new style's rating. So I guess that means my old inferior skimmer will do only 1100 divided by 1090 gallons... anybody know where I can get a 1.009174311 gallon pico for cheap?

I really thought that thing was a super deal and would handle 350g without having to breathe hard. Raj has dashed my hopes. And Rob ripped me off.:)
