question

Whyy should it need to be put in your reactor?

Seachem Clarity is a flocculant, and a good one.

Depends on what caused the cloudiness. New sand? Bacterial bloom? Precipitation event?

How old is the tank? How much do you feed? Dosing any calcium or alk?

it's a bacterial bloom i think. i bought a sump that came with a free phosban reactor and i for some reason thought it'd be smart to not change the water and phosban/carbon that was sitting in it. he didnt have it running for who knows how long.

yeah probably shoulda cleaned that out pretty good initially....change out the carbon and get some seachem matrix somewhere inline to the water flow....thats might help it calm down a bit

are you talking about matrix carbon, or is there just a seachem 'matrix'? jennm was telling me that's what she uses on a setup VERY similar to mine, so that sounds like a good idea.

i was going to put some in a filter bag, and just place it up against my foam block before the return.
