I just picked up a new brain coral. When putting it in the bucket to acclimate, I saw a baby serpent starfish. Now I can't find the starfish to remove it. If I iodine dip the brain, will it kill the starfish?

I do not normally dip healthy looking softies / lps corals at all. Do you think that it may have an issue?

I always dip corals from LFS simply because of the turnover in the tanks. Not saying I'm right (or that it's justified), but it makes me feel better.

it will probably kill the starfish, depending on the strength of your dip. I run mine pretty strong and it kills a ton of stuff.

In my experience, he should drop out once the coral hits the dip. If you pull him out ASAP he has a chance for survival.

Starfish are notorious for dieing under minor stress. I am guessing he will croak fast in iodine.
