finally got it. it is hung up and i am currently trying to configure it but i cant get the ecosmart config to run on the comp. it is installed but not running for some reason. cant wait till its running. i think i will do a build thread on my solana later

So far I have it in artificial configuration which is a custom but its not as customizable (sp?) As I thought. Anyone wanna chime in with how they configured their unit would be helpful. I'm not sure if I went as deep as I could have. I know what I will be doing over the next day or so
well its been a couple of days since i put the light on the tank and the corals are taking to it just fine. even though i havent had time to change the settings more the fixture is worth it for sure. i am getting better visible color due to it changing from 14k in the morning and 20k int he evening. with my mh fixture i had no actinic supplement also but now i have that and the ability to have actinic night viewing. im anxious to see my next power bill. i guess to sum it up overall i am very satisfied with the new fixture as i thought i would be.

I have eight Radions over two reef tanks, and I use Natural Mode. Artificial Mode is [B]highly[/B] customizable. You can dial in any Kelvin temperature you want at any point in the photoperiod. Play with the settings more and you'll see this.
I like Natural Mode because it offers varying Kelvin throughout the day, and is based on Sunlight patterns on the equator. The depth offset is unique as well.
I doubt there is a more customizable LED fixture on the market right now.

With just one metal halide fixture I doubt you will see a difference at all. The cost of running a single 250 watt MH is around or less than $7.50 a month (that's at .12 a KWH). Also a single MH really isn't going to dramatically increase your room temperature either. The Radion ran at an average of 135 watts for 10 hours a day is going to cost you about $5 a month, so you might with the small amount of cooling needed and whatever else save $3-5 a month. It really only starts to add up when you are running 2,3, or more large MH fixtures. I'd really hate to see the bill for those running 3 400 watt halides mid-summer...
The Radion has a draw of 138 watts or close to it, which should be at 100%, and very few folks run them at that. The six on my 300 gallon peak at 85%, but total probably average about 60-65% intensity, taking into account the slow ramp up and down. My other two peak at 50%, so I'm sure there is a savings in electricity, although the Radion is expensive itself.
