I have had a couple fellow ARC Radion Users ask me what kind of lighting schedule I use on my six adion setup over my 300 gallon. Here is the schedule, along with a screen shot of it.

Artificial Mode. All presets. 13 hour period.

12:00pm: 0% all LEDs
12:30pm Blue (100% brightness)
1:00 pm All Blues (100% brightness)
2:00 pm 18K (100% brightness)
3:00 pm 14K (100% brightness)
5:00 pm 12K (100% brightness)
8:00 pm 12K (100% brightness)
10:00 pm 14K (100% brightness)
11:00 pm 18K (100% brightness)
12:00 am All Blues (100% brightness)
12:30 am Blue (100% brightness)
1:00 am Royal Blue only (20% brightness)
1:30 am 0% all LEDs

Wow, thats awesome how many options you can have. I didnt realize you could do that with radions!

that is the great thing about Radions, IMO, you can dial in whatever Kelvin you want. My total photoperiod is 13 hours, but about 40% of that is low level or blue, so it ids not photosynthetically beneficial for the corals. One common thing about LEDs (AIs and Radions, from my own experience) and SPS corals, I have found, is that to grow SPS corals under LEDs you need an intense period of light at 100%, 6 or 7 hours IME. Mine occurs from 3pm to 10 pm, so my SPS get 7 hours of 14K or 12K light in that time period. The 2.5 hours pre and post the 3-10pm period period is just for viewing, really.

I like the Radion so much more than the AI for the program versatility. The AI grows SPS, but they look so much nicer under Radions.

Anyone seriously considering Radions who want to see what they're capable of should come in and see us. We have them in use on our McCullough Clown cube, and can give an exact demonstration.

SEA has a cube lit by two Radions...looks really nice.

I have two on my 93 cube. Very happy with the fixture. When I get home from work I'll post my settings.

I'm loving my radions more and more each day now that I've finally got them working. I can't believe I waited so long to install.

Jason,

I followed the directions perfectly for the Apex ATO and it still didn't work. The Apex is not recognizing the breakout box. I'm not sure why.

Is it the apex not recognizing the BB or BB not recognizing the float switch?

I'm not sure. All I know is when I activate the float switch the apex doesn't turn on the pump. I don't know if it is a problem with the programming or what.

Here is my current setup:

9a: OFF

10a: RB/B 100%
CW 60%
Brightness 15%

1030a: 20k 30%

12p: 18k 60%

2p: 14k 80%

4p: 12k 80%

6p: 14k 80%

815: 20k 65%

10p: RB/B 100%
CW 50%
G 10%
R 10%
Brightness 20%

1045p: Same as above @ 15%

1130p: RB 100%
B 65%
CW 30%
Brightness 15%

1215a: Same as above @ 10%

130a: OFF

I have the traveling sunrise/sunset feature activated with 45 min. between fixtures, so my back fixture comes on 45 min earlier than the front, and front stays on 45 min. after the back. I just activated last week when I received a replacement fixture from EcoTech because of an issue with my original one (EcoTech is the best!). I may end up changing it to around 20-25 min.

I love the Radion. Tank looks great, and I have what amounts to be a 17 hour lighting period! Perfect because I work late and stay up late.

Do you guys think one radion would be enough for an elos 70? I know the height and depth are good, but it is 29.5" long. Obviously I am not going to have corals growing 3-4" at the edges of my tank, but should it light SPS in the center, and other softies within 26 inches well?

I had one of these on my 24x24 cube and there was definitely some light spillage, so as long as I don't have a spotlight look... I think it should be okay.

My daughter put 1 over her 36" 57 gallon tank and it has pretty good coverage - for most of the tank except for the fringes. She has some low light corals on the edge and they are doing fine.
