As popular as Radium bulbs are for keeping SPS dur to it's par, color, & quality, I didn't realize that they are made for 230 volts!

Hey, I still love 'em, just thought it kinda strange that Radium doesn't make a US version.

I don't recall Sanjay mentioning that either...........I'm sure he did though.

That voltage is after the balllast not what the ballast operates on.
Most magnetic ballast will operate on 4 different voltages. The 230v is after the transformer

they don't like magnetic ballasts, only pulse and electronic.

my galaxy select a watt only gives me a choice on wattage, and on what to plug in it at (120 or 230).

I've got a coralvue dimmable ballast, i can't adjust the input voltage but i've got the wattage set to 360, very blue...and I like it. I grow SPS 24" down.

Most pulse start ballast are magnetic. Mh bulbs operate on a range from 80 volts to at least 280 volts or higher. The voltage of the bulb has nothing to do with the input voltage of the ballast. That is the ballast's job to transform the voltage into the correct operating voltage for the bulb. The electronic ballast usually does the most precise job of this. Radiums don't have an internal ignitor is the reason they fail to start on regular probe start magnetic ballast.
