When I left for work this morning I figured he would have let go of it already. Instead he had now acquired 2 snails and a dead acro that someone gave me when it was on it's way out

it's bored so you need to put a leash on it and take it for a walk around the neighborhood. Otherwise, it will tear everything up and pee on your rug.

They do look good in the pic but so so much better in person! If only I could train him not to steal and knock over everything in the tank. I specifically requested an urchin in a CUC package deal from Rit (who
Is awesome) and he warned me.. But I did not listen lol. Thing is I really like this guy even though he is a total jerk.

Edit: Does this count as animal hoarding?? He is collecting snails!

Gotta ask Dylan about the one that cleaned out his frag rack... apparently urchins look better with LE corals

This is just one of the reasons why echinoderms are my favorite animal group. :)

LOL!

I had a Tuxedo Urchin in the shop (OK well I've had many)... but one in particular, picked up a red mushroom and it was stuck to it at an angle, sort of like Jamie Hyneman's beret. It picked up all kinds of other flotsam here and there too - the customer that bought it called "her", the Bag Lady :D

Another way that corals can reproduce - urchin picks up a mushroom here, a frag there, and drops them off someplace else at random.

Mother Nature is amazing!

While highly expensive (trust me on this....eventually....), and a pia sometimes, my tank isn't my tank without my buddy..... I added this guy in 2010 Pincushion Urchin (Tripneustes gratilla). These guys/gals (ok, ok....hermaphroditic entities are great!).....lol
