Red stuff on my LR?

Can someone please help to id what the red grass like stuff on this piece of rock (I don't mean the hermit crab)?

Just some tasty algae that hermit is going to really enjoy for the next day.

Might want to have a bigger shell handy.

is the red algae a macro algae or just plain algae? Does it offer some type of benefit? I do have other shells for the hermit crabs in the tank. Thanks for the replies.
