I need some suggestions for gluing frags to rocks I can't pull out of the tank. So underwater application. I bought a fluval sea aquatic epoxy stick but it's very hard to work with since it sticks 10x better to my hands than the rocks.

I'd like to find something that sets fairly quickly as a lot of my space is on vertical surfaces.
Suggestions?

Thanks!

Another vote for Super Glue gel. DON'T save a buck and go with the non-gel form. Runs right off the frag. Ask me how I know :) I use the gel and "PC" brand plumber's epoxy in gray. Within a week or two, the epoxy looks very much like the live rock.

I didn't like ecotechs product. Sent me a sample with a repaired pump and it was almost too</em> thick.. Regular super glue gel is much easier to work with

I used the super glue gel for along time and I tried a million times to glue some mushrooms and it never kept but the ecotech worked so I just stuck with it.

Other than viscosity (thickness) the super glue is all cyanoacrylate. There may be fillers added to the cheaper stuff but it all works.

Fwiw-
I bought the glue we used on last years frag meeting frags at Harbor Freight, where everything is 'hecho en china'

(Spanish=made in china)

Outdrsguy, I am also in Marietta, I could stop by and show you some tricks I learned with the superglue gel. Really the best stuff to work wiht under water. Let me know.

+1 my HB by me does not have the gel but the dollar general does 2 tubes for a dollar.

Thanks a TON everyone, i've been using the regular gorilla super glue but as you can guess the viscosity can be a problem at times. I'll try the dollar store by me to see if I can find the "gel" version and if not i'll hit up home depot.

and dball711 i'd love to get your help sometime ;)
I have a 110 display that looks like a 110 frag tank right now lol!
Not being able to find bone cutters locally to cut the pegs off all my frag plugs has been a pain so I was thinking of pulling out the dremel tool to cut them so I can mount them. If you don't have a frag tank, the plugs are a real pain (my sand isn't very deep also so they are hard to stand up). I"ll probably buy a magnet plug rack somewhere this weekend but I really didn't want that in my DT.

Depending on the type of coral, I usually just take mine off the plug. Otherwise, I use a pair of old wire cutters to snap the peg off. It doesn't take much to break them, and the wire cutters let you control where the break happens.
