Anybody know where I could buy this without having to order online?

Anyone used this before ?

I carry it but I'm out of stock right at the moment.

The Reef Nutrition is the same mysis as PE, it's just refrigerated instead of frozen. The refrigerated is convenient to use.

Both frozen brands have their place. The Hikari brand mysis shrimp are smaller than the PE brand; maybe half the size.

I've used both and I like the Hikari brand due to less oils in the frozen "water" and IMHO I think that you get more food per ounce.

Refrigerated... Interesting! Do you know what the shelf-life is on it? Right now I don't go through a ton of food, but obviously feed every day. I go through 2 cubes of PE about every 3-4 days. So a frozen pack lasts me a LONG time. Refrigerated is far more convenient though =)

+1 would like to know shelf life

It's several months. I don't have any in stock at the moment (was too hot to ship as of late)... but when I get some in I can post the use-by date.

Wow! What kind of preservatives are in there that allow shrimp to be fresh for several months!?

Probably nothing worse than what's in frozen or the Ethoxyquin commonly found in flakes and pellets.

Jenn

Dehydrated food requires little to no preservatives to keep fresh.

There's got to be something potent in there to keep them fresh.

Edit: PE mysis or Hikari only last a week in the refrigerator before it starts smelling stale.
