So I'm thinking about getting a male blue jaw trigger....anyone have one and had any coral related/ invert problems.....I haven't had a trigger before and know they are great to have in a FOWLR tank(friend of mine played fetch with his Titan with a bioball.....LOL)...just wondering if it would be a good addition but I guess it actually comes down to the specific fish itself...

That is correct. It all boils down to the personality of the individual fish. Blue Jaws is one of the safer options as fas as triggers go for being reef safe. You willfair better as long as you keep him well fed. He'll be less likely to nip things. I've been on the fence for a looooooong time about getting myself a Blue Jaw or a Cross Hatch.

Yeah I would love a crosshatch......but a gawaiin blue jaw would be nice....I lived in Hawaii for a semester when I was in college.....so I'm trying to go for a mostly hawaiian stocked tank.....but a humahumanukanuka apa'a is definately out....haha

I lived in Hawaii for 3 years and would watch the locals catch triggers, groupers, angels that we would pay tons of money for a fish that size. They'd grill'em and eat'em.

...and you do realize that along with mysis and flakes, you'll need to feed them poi once a week...lol.

Hahaha......poi and I'd have to have a luau at least once a month to make him feel at home....I was actually fishing at Ke'e beach on Kaua'i and caught a huma that was about 5-6 inches.....to bad I'd get arrested for taking the state fish....let alone when I almost did for "harassing the dolphins" in honaunau bay.......LOL

Trivial note: More Spam is consumed in Hawaii than any other state. Once McDonalds added it to their menu, Burger King had to follow suit immediatly as sales plummeted.

If you need someone to video you wearing a grass skirt and dancing for your fish...don't ask me...that's just to wierd. :lol2:j/k

Yeah and I actualy have some in my pantry...(got used to spam and eggs every morning).....and yeah with a face like that....(avatar only.....don't know the real one)....don't worry you'd scare the fish let alone myself......especially with a coconut bra on........*shutters*

lol.....read that wrong earlier......iPhone strikes again.....anyways....yeah ill get my GF to do that. but i think myself in a coconut bra would be horrible in itself.....blah!

I have a Bursa Trigger in my reef.... so far so good. He has been with me the longest out of all the fish Ive owned... I say go for it, triggers are great fish..

I had a bluejaw for a long time (until he jumped) and he used to get cleaned by shrimp.
