I am looking at jumping into the LED market for the first time and was wondering if anybody has used or experienced these units? The one that i am looking at is the Nova A4 for a 60 or 90 gallon cube. Looking to see if it is comparable to the more well known units such as the AI.

Been doing a bit of research on this same subject, but no practical experience. Reef Breeders uses Bridgelux LEDs. Some would argue these are not as good as CREE. I believe the AI to be a better unit overall. However for the money I would not hesitate going with the Reef Breeders.
Regarding AI... you can pick up a refurbished SOL at their website. Also, the AI Hydra look interesting. (But still, for the money the Reef Breeders still look good.)

Thanks for the help. I might give them a call or an email and ask about which led comes in the A4 series. Also wondering about the control ability of the fixture itself.

I have 4 of the Photons (only mine came from the factory so they are called something else (I think IT2040)) Great color, They have true heat sinks in them unlike some of the other units that are out there. For the price that is good. It is a great built light. I keep RBTA under them with no problem. I have the power cut way back on mine. The manufacture is great to deal with (Evergrow) I did have a warrantee issue with mine when I got them but they sent me the new parts in just a few days to fix them. I have read that ReefBreaders is great on the warranty also. Get on Reef Central there is a very good link on the lights. It has been split several times now because of it being so long. Lots of great information on the lights there. If you order from the factory you can get custom color/spectrum. You will love the lights.
Their units are very user friendly. I too, jumped into the LED arena 4 weeks ago. I bought the fixture you are going to go with, the Nova A4. It has been Super so far! Logan is the contact person at Reefbreeders. He has been so helpful to me. Hard to get him on the phone sometimes but, he will call you back. I bet i've called him at least 6 or 7 times with a question after i bought this unit. I have my Nova A4 over my 30 cube and soon it will go over a 60 cube that i'll be setting up. He told me to start at 20% during max daylight hours and increase it 10% a week. I'm at 40% max during a 3 hour daylight span. Yes ,you can ramp up the intensity each 30 min. or each hour,whichever you choose. He told me never to go over 60 to 70 % max daylight. It also has moonlights on one of the Channels. This light gives great shimmer. Programming changes are easy and i use the remote that comes with it. Heat is not a factor at all with this light. 2 year warrenty can't be beat. My corals now really pop and glow ...They seem to love it. Best $299. I've spent. Can't wait to get it over my 60 cube. I really think you'll like it

I can say I have seen good growth with full spectrum. I had a staghorn and purple acro that more than doubled in size in about 4 months vs my old mh setup. So I do believe that the full spectrum does have its advantages. Not to mention hardly no heat and very little power consumption.
