And here you can see that the spring COULD be retracted a little more... just if it were necessary, want to make sure before I used so the spring won't be exposed to saltwater, if it's the case.

The spring appears to be some kind of stainless because the old one had no corrosion.

I don t think you can compress the spring to a point that would prevent water from reaching the spring. Not sure

Yes, you might be right. I'll be reaching at the guy from Reeflo who sent me the impeller, would ask him, and provide info.
I'll try to see if I can provide Link for those bullet proof seals I was talking about, it might not be right due to forum rules.
