I have brown stains in my refuge, which I just set up. This all happens pretty much over a 24 hour period.

I am new to a sump rather then a canister. So is this something that I need to be concerned about?

nothing to be concerned of. part of the cycling process.

So will it resolve itself or do I need to add “something” to the refuge that eats it? I have some Sea Lettuce in its way and was going to add it to the refuge, now I don’t know should I wait?

I don’t think the Sea Lettuce will help.

Yes, as previously stated, nothing to be concerned about. Nothing to add; it will resolve itself

As long as the water you are using is free of silicates and your sand isn't silica based then it will resolve itself. You'll start to get sponge growth which will soak up loose silicates and then your diatoms will go away. If your sand is silica based it'll still go away on its own... it'll just take longer.
