I have a Milwaukee regulator that has been in service about two weeks. It's attached to a 5 lb cylinder and has been showing about 70 lbs of pressure on the high pressure side.

The safety valve blew tonight. Nothing was dropped or fell over... the cylinder/regulator were under the cabinet with no one around when she blew.

Any one experienced this?

use to have paintball co2 canisters blow valves all the time if they got to hot.

Tank was reading 70 psi when I connected the regulator two weeks ago... it has dropped some since then.

Dial on the regulator goes up to 250 psi. What is normal full pressure for a 5 lb cycinder?

Room was at 69 degrees when it blew... Is replacing the safety valve a DYI task?

they just screw on, i usually use teflon tape you just have to find one.

Check any welding supply store and they should have one or be able to get you in touch with someone who can.

The valve is recessed and looks like it takes a special tool (two prongs) to turn the valve and remove it.

Just looked at mine and it is recessed but looks like you can use a screwdriver to take it out. Yours could be a little different but any welding supply store should be able to change it out for you. Can't think of the name of the place maybe someone can chime in but it is on Hwy 41 in Marietta by Hwy 120. It is where I get my CO2 from.
