When one has a return pump that comes just with a smooth (not threaded) little stand pipe thingy, how do you prefer to connect it to say, 1" tubing? Pics would be appreciated if you have them.

No pics but you can use a piece of flexible hose from the pump to a barb/1" thread or smooth fitting to attach to a 1" pipe.

Use a plastic hose clamp to connect the hose to the pump and to the barb.

Glue the barb fitting to the pipe or use thread tape if you want to use threaded fittings.

Something like that. Size appropriate of course.

You might can buy everything from brs.

Thanks everyone. Those clamps will work. Some pumps are threaded and it makes it easier.
